Meanwhile, the rain had started again, and despite everything, the assistance was standing up in front of the stage, not wanting to miss a moment of this cultural event. The Master of Ceremony announced the surprise guest of the evening and an admiring murmur greeted the entry on scene of singer Emeline Michel, more resplendent than ever, accompanied by her musicians who had traveled with her. Once again, she made everyone’s hearts vibrate by singing “Peyi Mwen Cheri” with her accomplice, Dominik James, undeniable virtuoso of the guitar. She continued with “The Scent of my Ground” and introduced to the public violinist Daniel Bernard Romain, an exceptional talent. Surrounded by the Dancers of COJRD, our National Diva danced and interpreted “Beni Yo“ followed by the song “Maricela” whose words describe the hard life of our compatriots in Dominican Republic. It was one moment of generalized joy when the first notes of “Banm la Jwa” busted simultaneously with the explosions of firecrackers in a finally serene sky, which lasted a few good minutes. Then, in an ambiance of respect and meditation, the assistance enjoyed “Many Rivers to Cross”, song which highlighted the perfect control of Emeline whose accents made us quiver. To enclose the song recital, the public sang and danced with his Idol after having claimed and obtained the song-fetish, “A.K.I.K.O.” which  definitely refuses to take one single wrinkle, just like YOLE DEROSE, Artist with undeniable savoir-faire and professionalism, who successfully conceived and carried out this evening which had only breaks imposed by the rain. Emeline publicly paid a well deserved homage to her, then required and obtained from the assistance a standing ovation in her honor.

After the projection of a short-film, “The 8 Pillars”, on the big screens placed on each side of the scene, Mr Wilson Jeudy, Mayor of Delmas, was finally able to present his short speech to his guests. He painted the positive evolution of his Commune proving thus that he was a man of challenge, a visionary, who knew how to transform his dreams into reality.
