 “Yole and Ansy”: This is the replica of two twin voices, the unique symbol of the success of a couple as well in the artistic field as in private life. The already solid popularity of Ansy Dérose has certainly been reinforced by the sweet and colorful voice of his companion whose breath taking beauty is recognized by all. Carriers of dreams and tenderness, their names are always evoked with fascination and benefit of fame without limit. Their performance “In Tribute to the Youth” at the Sylvio Cator Stadium in front of an audience of over 25,000 people, with the participation of 9 young talents from the 9 Geographic Departments of the country, is an evident proof.
From now on, it was a great and passionate love story between the public, Yole, and Ansy. Whatever the time and the place, long lines would form in front of the theaters where they were performing in Haiti and abroad, from the most humble to the prestigious theater as Carnegie Hall.
As an ambassador of Haitian Song, Yole Dérose has fought aside of her partner Ansy (deceased in 1998 of a colon cancer) all the fights that music and words could fight and win.
Yole has been working in tandem with Ansy Dérose during 20 years. In Haiti, she has participated in more than 70 shows. There were performances at “Djoumbala Night Club”, at the “Rex Theatre”, and many national tours.
Abroad, she has created shows in North America: New-York (Carnegie Hall), Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Orlando. She has performed in the best known theaters of Canada. She has successfully participated in many international competitions, especially in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
In addition to her successful career as a singer, Yole acquired strong experience working during 8 years as the administrator of the “Ansy Dérose Creations and Productions Workshop” (Ateliers Creations et Productions Ansy Dérose) - (Interior decorating, wood work, iron, mixing of wood and metal). She also managed the “Workshop-School of CECAP” (Atelier-Ecole du CECAP) a philanthropic institution, during 5 years, as a teacher and coordinator of cultural activities of CECAP (conferences-debates, excursions and cultural research for a global education). And as a motto: “Let’s properly teach our people so that they become much more than professionals: beings of light, by cultivating their own spirit beyond the simple daily needs, which tie the world to the dimension of material and mortal”. |
